Literature & Writing Class

This spring, I will be running a class for homeschool students grades 5-7. Students will grow as writers and readers as they read great stories and write some of their own. They will grow in expressing themselves through the written and spoken word.

Writing:

  • Students will develop in descriptive and narrative writing, learning how to write concisely and concretely. They will also learn how to write fresh, descriptive similes and practice their interviewing skills.

Reading:

  • As a class we will read and discuss novels by Andrew Clements, such as Troublemaker and The Landry News.

Presenting:

  • As a culminating project, students will interview another person, write a narrative about them, and present it at the end of the session.
